The best stories are written by life and can neither be planned nor predicted – as is the story and idea behind loyoubi.

Who we are

We are the people behind the loyoubi brand – idea generators, enthusiasts, visionaries, passionate e-bikers, clever minds, technology experts, lateral thinkers and manufacturing specialists with the common goal of facilitating and promoting e-mobility on two wheels.

We are the technological intersection of two companies that did not know each other before and became strong partners through an idea.
We come from different product worlds, are not completely unknown in our industries and are the best example of how you can and must leave well-trodden paths on the way to future-oriented products by looking beyond your own nose.

We, the people and companies behind loyoubi, are the Jordan Group and FRIWO. For all those who do not yet know us, we would like to briefly introduce ourselves in order to close this knowledge gap:

loyoubi

loyoubi is not a bad parent in the truest sense of the word and has the appropriate technical, industrial and, above all, human background to ensure that customers and users feel they are in good hands.

It all started with the Zillertal, the mountains, an e-mountainbike and a passionate biker and Jordan colleague called Andreas.

During his long e-bike tours through the mountains or on the stages from snack station to snack station, he quickly realised that although the e-bike stands for individual, healthy and sustainable mobility and is an integral part of today’s mobility concepts, there is a lack of suitable charging infrastructure, especially in public spaces.

Either there was a complete lack of charging facilities or the existing infrastructure consisted of a rudimentary power connection. He therefore had to abandon his motto ‘it doesn’t matter if it’s quick’ for the time being and take his own brick-heavy charger with him – anything but ideal. The subject never let go of him. On the one hand he was – ultimately positively – annoyed, on the other he was challenged. Giving up was not an option.

It had to be possible to develop a publicly accessible charging facility that was not only robust enough for public spaces, but also compatible with many different chargers and easy to use without unnecessary ballast:

Plug into the bike, charge – done! Initial concept ideas and design sketches gradually evolved into a tangible product development for an e-bike charging station. The realisation of the mechanical part was no problem for the production department within the Jordan Group; for the electronic part, i.e. the appropriate charging technology, a competent partner was brought on board in the form of FRIWO.

And as is often the case, someone knows someone who knows someone and the charging station with the working title e-load even became a designer piece thanks to the creative minds and hands of Design3. Not only that – quite unexpectedly, our charging station became a welcome guest and award winner on the red carpets of the iF Design Award and Red Dot.

The idea in our heads and on paper ultimately led to a strong partnership, an innovative product and the new loyoubi brand – by the way the path to loyoubi led through trials and tribulations and a great many name and word creations.

But that’s another story, which we would be happy to tell the interested listener in person over a beer or hot drink in the snack bar while they charge their e-bike on our loyoubi.

We may be 100 years old, but we have held up well, are fresh in our minds and always have our finger on the pulse.

Having started out with a cooking pot at the top of our product portfolio, which quickly evolved into light-directing reflectors, we now offer the world of modern lighting technology a unique, comprehensive service and performance package from a single source that makes life easier for our customers. This is because we develop and manufacture tools in our in-house tool shop, produce light-directing components and cast luminaire components from die-cast aluminium or manufacture housings from sheet steel.

We metallise, anodise, paint, assemble and electrify. At 6 locations in Germany, Great Britain, Bosnia-Herzegovina and China, we employ a total of over 350 people and support more than 500 customers in over 40 countries with our products and services in the realisation of their projects relating to light, luminaires and lighting – and with loyoubi now also with e-mobility on two wheels.

Since the invention of the world’s first plug-in power supply unit, discerning customers have been able to rely completely on FRIWO when it comes to power supply: Since 1971, we have produced well over a billion power supply solutions, giving us industry-leading technological expertise.

As an international system provider, FRIWO today develops and produces digitally controllable power supply and drive solutions from a single source. In addition to technologically advanced chargers, battery packs, power supply units and LED drivers, the product range also includes intelligent components for electric drives.

Our products cover numerous applications. FRIWO’s expertise in the field of charging technology is particularly valued by the demanding markets of electromobility, mobile tools and lawn robots. In power supplies, the focus is mainly on applications in the medical technology and healthcare sectors, industrial automation and mechanical engineering as well as high-quality consumer electronics. LED drivers from the FRIWO brand can be found in professional interior lighting as well as in weather-resistant outdoor lighting. The components for electric drives are primarily used in the field of electromobility, for example in battery-powered scooters

With modern development centres, production and sales in Europe, Asia and North America, FRIWO is present in all major markets around the world.

Award-winning!

Some things can’t be planned, they just happen and suddenly you find yourself on show stages and red carpets together with well-known tech and design companies. Of course, we are all the prouder that we as loyoubi have won prestigious design awards such as the IF and the reddot with our e-bike charging station virtually from a standing start and that the innovation and aesthetics of the product have also been confirmed and honoured by recognised experts.

What the award judges say about the loyoubi charging station for e-bikes.

Electromobility is quietly conquering the world’s cities, but without sufficient charging infrastructure it will come to a standstill. Jordan / Friwo has transferred the elegant and monumental aesthetics of EV design to this charging station for electric bikes.

iF Gold Statement

e-load (now loyoubi) is a charging station for electric bicycles in communities, at restaurants or at companies that want to support their employees, for example. The product is equipped with the charging technology of the most important e-bike providers and is available as a double or single charger.

‘e-load (now loyoubi) has an integrative design and blends in well with other street furniture such as street lighting,’ said the jury. The device makes its functions directly accessible and is easy to use: the charging plug is clearly visible thanks to the emphasised circular element. The modular design simplifies repair or conversion.

Sustainable production of sustainable products for sustainable mobility

Admittedly, the headline looks very much like an SEO-optimised text and would certainly have attracted negative attention in many an English exam due to too much repetition. Nevertheless, we have chosen it deliberately and in a prominent position, because we believe that sustainability is never enough.

Sustainable production

We think green and act sustainably, and not just since yesterday. Even though loyoubi is still a very young brand, the companies behind it are already old hands for whom the colour green plays a major role, because we care for our ecological footprint and manufacture sustainable products. We are certainly not perfect and not all materials, components and processes can currently be replaced by climate-neutral solutions, but we are working on it – for you, for us and for our climate.

To a large extent our production literally lives on wind and water through the use of climate neutrally produced energy from wind and hydropower

We don’t take every supplier
When selecting a supplier we do not only make a point of proven carbon neutrality as e.g. for the aluminium, the energy used or the packaging materials, but also pay attention to source as locally as possible to have a low ecological footprint in terms of transportation

We think local and are Europeans by conviction
We do not only focus on local suppliers in sourcing, we also intentionally strengthen our German and European locations – after all, 99% of our customers are from Germany or other European countries.

Short transportation distances ensure significantly less CO2 emissions in logistics compared to products made in Asia.

Sustainable products for sustainable mobility

loyoubi’s e-bike charging stations have a modular design and therefore help to conserve resources: The main unit can be easily converted or replaced in the event of repairs or technology updates.

With loyoubi, we offer a durable element and an important component of public infrastructure that can significantly support the transition to new and sustainable mobility.
